Cover letter from Jane Austin - Google disasters

This is me. Not. This is me. Not. Jane Austen

I was recently recruiting for an international job vacancy where very good English was required. The standard of applicants was very high, but one person stood out - for the wrong reasons.

A chap from portugal sent me the following cover letter:

Hon. Lord, In response to the notice published XXXXXXX, I hereby apply for the posts of marketing internship. For that purpose, I refer to Your Excellence, my CV, which shows in detail, my educational background, requesting to consider my application for a possible collaboration in Your company. My availability is total for any clarifications they deem necessary. In anticipation of a close contact, I subscribe me with my best regards. XXXXX XXXXXX

At first I was flattered, had I been awarded a Lordship and no one told me? Was I really so important that this young fellow had confused me for Nobility? Did he think he was the lead character in a Jane Austen novel? No. More like a google translate disaster. Needless to say I did not get back to this guy.
